Kevin started his bodybuilding journey at the age of 13 when he was first introduced to weightlifting. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of West Georgia and a Masters degree in Management Information Systems from Georgia College & State University. His father was a bodybuilder and it was something Kevin loved from an early age. After completing high school and like most people, the end of his “sports career”, Kevin decided to start competing in bodybuilding. His first show was the 2007 NPC Georgia where he competed in the teen division and his last competition was the 2016 NPC Nationals where he missed his IFBB pro card in the heavyweight division by just 1 placing. Kevin is still an active competitor and plans to take another shot at his IFBB pro card in the near future.
Kevin has been coaching people through contest prep since 2014. He prides himself on his training approach to grow muscle and his “peak week” during contest prep. He believes training should follow the stimulate don’t annihilate mentality. Growing muscle is great and fun but you have to take care of your body in order to prevent injuries and stay mobile. Stretching regularly and training the “little muscles”, muscles like one’s stabilizers and rotator cuff, is crucial for anyone active, especially if you are trying to hold some good quality muscle.
